PERSONLISED ONLINE STATIONERY

The custom developed, responsive e-commerce portal with web-to-print enabled technology for a client who offers personalised and customised fine paper stationery and gifting online.

The Client

Paper Design Company is an online e-commerce company that uses technology to add a personal touch to their stationery which includes cards, letter papers, and notepads.

The Goal

To build an ecommerce platform which offers the ability to personalise and customise options stationary and to create a design that is long-lasting and a shopping experience where every aspect, from laidback browsing to the actual point of purchase, was guaranteed to be engaging, entertaining, and easy. To roll out new features on the ecommerce platform while managing support and maintenance for the website.

The process

We identified and articulated the client’s requirements: the creation of a digital platform that positioned PDC as a technology-driven company offering customisable print and digital stationery. We were responsible for their branding, website design and UI, and responsive web development. Other highlights include:


  • Technology evaluation- Evaluating options for e-commerce and back-end platforms including custom ecommerce solutions.

  • E-commerce development- Designing and developing a custom ecommerce solution using the Magento platform to offer a wide variety of products with personalisation options for online orders.

  • Web 2 Print Automation- Developing and integrating a custom web-to-print solution as part of the e-commerce website in which orders placed by customers could be converted to ready-to-print files without manual intervention.

  • Back-end Application- Developing a workflow solution to streamline the order process that passed through multiple stakeholders within and outside PDC, including the printers and logistic providers responsible for monitoring and tracking orders in real-time.

  • Ongoing support and maintenance.
